Dear Colleagues,
We are so happy to announce that the III. Familial Mediterranean Fever Meeting will be held in İstanbul, from 8th to 10th of May 2026. One of the major take-home messages agreed by all the attendees of FMF2024 was that there was a need for a meeting dedicated mainly to FMF every two years. It deserves special attention not only because of its disease oriented problems that need to be discussed vastly but also because of its potential to inspire.
The third meeting will mainly concentrate on diagnosis and treatment of FMF. Diagnosis continues to be a topic of interest even after all these years of inspection and investigation. This is a discussion with a spectrum that encompass many aspects related to diagnosis such as pathogenesis, genetics, differential diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, nomenclature …
We still need new, additional data to answer such questions as, can we stop colchicine, when, in whom and how? Do we need to continue colchicine with anti IL-1 agents? How to treat arthritis in FMF? What about treatment of amyloidosis? What do we expect from new agents? And such…
One of the goals of this up coming meeting is to initiate study groups that will gather investigators from various backgrounds who look for answers to shared questions. We are open for your proposals for topics you feel to be handled by a study group.
